A blower door test is a tool to measure the air-tightness of a building. .
One specific element of risk in regards to soil contamination occurs when volatile substances enter the building through the floor or basement and threatens air quality.
To estimate the actual risk we establish the level of control measures required. To do this we objectively measure the air- or vapour-tightness within the designated building.
Construction today is committed to insulation, ventilation and energy efficiency, elements that can also be evaluated by a blower door test. Different air-tightness and building air-flow metrics can be calculated from the data of the different blower door tests. We also apply these techniques to physical building applications.
