Cartoon Grondwatermonitoring

Groundwater travels through different layers of soil layers in the subsurface, in ways and at velocities that depend on the permeability of the soil layers.

Modeling the groundwater flow is crucial, both from a ground-mechanics and from an environmental standpoint. This is especially the case when human activities influence these systems, e.g. underground structures, groundwater pumping, contamination.

Based on groundwater flow modeling, Abesim identifies how groundwater migrates in the subsurface and makes forecasts for the future; for example about how the spread of pollution could have a negative impact on both humans and the environment over time, and contributes to groundwater contamination plume remediation. Assessments concerning settling damage risk caused by the lowering of groundwater levels are also part of our activities.

The first phase consists of working with you in deciding which information is necessary in regards to your needs and how we can offer the best results in a cost effective manner. We’ll then determine which approach would offer the best results in your particular case.

On the basis of a more detailed site investigation, we can refine the chosen approach. We can then implement the selected strategy.

After completing our work, we thoroughly evaluate the results. If necessary we will then perform additional research to either confirm or disprove the results.
